Privacy Policy
Debout — last updated: September 4, 2026 · Version française
Debout keeps your data with you. Everything the app records (alarms, wake-ups, streak, badges, questionnaire answers, sleep tracking) stays stored on your iPhone. Nothing is sold, nothing is shared with advertisers.
Microphone & sleep tracking
When you start sleep mode, Debout uses the microphone to measure the sounds of your night (snoring, talking) and may record short audio clips. All of this analysis happens on your phone: the audio is never sent or shared, and you can erase all of it.
Photos & camera
The camera missions — photo, detecting your movements (push-ups, squats) and code scanning — are analyzed directly on your device. No image is stored or sent.
Read aloud
For this mission, Debout uses the microphone and Apple's speech recognition to check that you're actually reading your sentence. The analysis happens on your device; no audio recording is kept or sent.
Usage measurement
To improve the app, we record usage statistics (screens viewed, missions completed) through PostHog, hosted in the European Union. None of the content of your nights or your photos is included. This is turned off during development.
Your email address
Providing it is always optional, when creating your account or from Settings → My data. It's used to find your account again and to tie your subscription to you rather than to an anonymous identifier.
It's transmitted to PostHog (European Union) and to RevenueCat, our subscription provider, which is located in the United States — for users in the European Union, this is a transfer outside the EU.
Tips and news emails
We only write to you if you've checked the box for it in Settings → My data. It's unchecked to begin with, and checking it is the only way onto that list: the legal basis is your consent.
You can uncheck it whenever you want, or unsubscribe using the link at the bottom of every email. Without that box checked, your address is never used to send you anything.
Purchases
They're handled by Apple and RevenueCat — subscription status, and your email address if you've provided it. No payment details ever go through Debout.
Groups
If you join a group (coming soon), only your nickname and your wake-up times will be synced, under an anonymous identifier. No email, no phone number.
Deleting your data
You can erase everything at any time from Settings → My data → Delete my data: alarms, history, streak, audio clips and imported sounds are deleted from the device, and your email address and your email preference are removed from RevenueCat.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (GDPR in the European Union, CCPA/CPRA in California, and similar laws elsewhere), you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or export your data, and to object to its processing. Because Debout doesn't require an account and keeps your data on your device, most of this happens directly in the app (see "Deleting your data"). For any request, write to contact@deboutapp.com; we answer within 30 days. EU residents can also contact their data protection authority (in France, the CNIL, cnil.fr). We don't sell personal information and never have.
Children
Debout is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data about them.
Publisher
Debout is published by Marcus André, sole proprietor (M.A GROUP), 60 rue François Ier, 75008 Paris, France — SIREN 944 176 619. Contact: contact@deboutapp.com.
Changes
This policy may change. The date at the top of the page is the reference; if a change is substantial, we'll let you know in the app.
